Ashland Special-Needs Ministry presents Tim Tebow’s "Night to Shine"

An Unforgettable Evening of Joy and Love

I have never been more honored to cover a story than the one I witnessed at Ashland Special-Needs Ministry's second annual Tim Tebow's "Night to Shine" event. The excitement in the air was extraordinary, and even though a pesky frog kept making appearances in my throat, I couldn't wait to capture every moment. The event was a true testament to the power of love, and compassion.

A Night Filled with Smiles and Dancing

As the attendees made their way down the red carpet specially laid out for them, I couldn't help but be moved by the big smiles and the joyful dances that accompanied their entrance. With twinkles in their eyes and huge smiles that stretched from ear to ear, it was an incredible sight to behold. Ashland Special-Needs Ministry had successfully created an evening of pure magic for individuals with disabilities.

The Power of Volunteers

One of the most remarkable aspects of the event was the overwhelming support from volunteers. There were more volunteers than I had ever seen at an event, each one dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience for the attendees. For every individual with a disability, there was a one-to-one buddy assigned for the evening. This ensured that each person had someone by their side throughout the night, fostering meaningful connections and friendships.

Support from the Community

The success of the "Night to Shine" event was made possible not only by the volunteers but also by the generous support of the local community. Limousines were provided for the attendees, adding an extra touch of glamour to the night. A local salon donated their time to do hair and makeup for the attendees, making sure they felt like true royalty. Additionally, many businesses in the Mansfield and Ashland area donated to help bring the event to life.

A Prom like No Other

Ashland Grace Church graciously opened its doors to host this year's event at 1144 W Main Street. The church became a vibrant space where the Ashland community came together to celebrate and uplift individuals with special needs. It's worth noting that "Night to Shine" events take place not only in Ashland but all over the world. Tim Tebow, the host of over 700 proms like these globally, brings joy to countless communities.

A Night Fit for Royalty

The theme of the evening was a luau, transporting attendees to a tropical paradise. Among the festivities, the Mayor of Ashland, Mayor Matt Miller, and his wife, Ohio State Representative Melanie Miller, added a touch of grandeur by presenting each attendee with a crown or tiara. The royal treatment continued throughout the night, leaving every individual feeling cherished and special.

The Impact on the Ashland Community

Mayor Matt Miller conveyed his awe and admiration for the event, recognizing its impact on the community. He expressed, "There may not be another event in our great county that can rival the excitement, love, compassion, and fun that exists at the annual 'Night to Shine' event. It is absolutely incredible how well-orchestrated this event is, and I am blown away by the huge number of community volunteers of all ages who come out to serve these wonderful people who are such an important part of our Ashland Community."

A Night Filled with Love and Inclusion

The Ashland Special-Needs Ministry's Tim Tebow's "Night to Shine" was an evening that will forever be etched in the hearts of everyone involved. The joy, love, and camaraderie shared amongst the attendees, volunteers, and the community at large created an atmosphere that was truly magical. Through events like these, we are reminded of the power of compassion, and the impact it can have on the lives of individuals with special needs.
