Suspect Apprehended after Pursuit with Trooper

Vermillion Township - On November 7, 2023 at approximately 2:11 pm Trooper Paul Green attempted to stop a 2005 Ford Explorer on State Route 60 near US Route 30 for a speeding violation. The vehicle failed to stop, drove onto private property at 1859 State Route 60, and crashed into a shallow creek.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Daniel Johnson of Ashland, Ohio.

Johnson fled from the scene of the crash on foot and was located by Ashland County Sheriff Deputies in the front yard of 627 Township Road 1804.

Johnson was incarcerated in the Ashland County Jail for failing to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

Johnson was not injured and no law enforcement officers were injured.

The vehicle was removed from the creek by Bate's Towing of Ashland, Ohio.
