Semi Versus Car Shuts Down US Route 30 Westbound Lanes Last Night ***UPDATED***

Ohio Highway Patrol, Ashland County Sheriff's Office, Hayesville Fire Department & EMS, Mifflin Twp Fire Department & EMS, and Ashland Fire Department responded to the intersection of US Route 30, Westbound Lane intersecting with State Route 511 for a Semi versus Car accident, at 9:07pm last night.


Tererai Mushangwe, 34, of Cincinnati, Ohio was driving a 2017 Chevy Cruze, Southbound on State Route 511, and failed to stop at the intersection of US Route 30.


Mushangwe’s Chevy Cruze went into the path of a Westbound 2004 Kenworth Semi, driven by Christopher Blackburn, 32, of Carrollton, Ohio.


Mushangwe’s Chevy Cruze went off the right side of the highway into the ditch, and Blackburn’s Semi jackknifed, going off the left side of the highway.


Tererai Mushangwe received only minor injuries, and was transported to UH Samaritan Medical Center, and was cited with Fail to Yield.


US Route 30 Westbound was shut down for 1hour and 20 minutes by ODOT.


Aber's Towing & Crane Center assisted at the scene with the jackknifed semi.


Bates Towing removed the 2017 Chevy Cruze.
